Wear mechanism of Nomex/PTFE fiber reinforced composites

چکیده

Abstract This paper is aimed at the problems of abnormal tribological damage and fluctuation performance in self-lubricating composite serving heavy load spherical plain bearing aerospace field. The Nomex/PTFE fiber reinforced was used to carry out a reciprocating block on ring test, investigating material its wear evolution. Results show that influence oscillating frequency obviously higher than under high condition (more 90 MPa or 180 kN). Under certain condition, friction temperature key factor affect behavior material. Friction heat plays dominant role process worn failure Too greatly weakens performance, resulting short time. Thermal fatigue main mode with local occurred. finding also verified by SEM analysis surface debris.
